Metropolitan Museum of Art files include original label, "White Barn (Canadian) No. 2/1932/(oil) by Georgia O'Keeffe" (Alfred Stieglitz, An American Place1, black ink). Whitney Archive indicates, "'Infor. From Miss Bry (An Amer. Place), July 1949: On permanent loan to the Metropolitan Museum of Art from Georgia O'Keeffe as part of the Alfred Stieglitz Coll." Whitney Archive, Abiquiú Notebooks indicate that painting was in 1933 New York (An American Place) exhibition, as no. 7, White Barn 2, but no. 7 in that show is cat. no. 805. This work, cat. no. 808 or cat. no. 809 was possibly no. 14. Pictured in 1935 New York (An American Place) Stieglitz installation photograph, see Appendix III, figure 61.
