Inscription in museum file: "Apple Blossoms – 1930/(oil) by Georgia O'Keeffe" (Alfred Stieglitz, fragment of original backing, black ink). Whitney Archive (American Art Research Council Questionnaires) indicates, "Label on back states picture was painted in 1930, notes backing inscription and indicates No. 13 in An American Place 1931 exhibition." Abiquiú Notebooks indicates, "Bought from A.S." (Source: Lynes, 1999)
