Double entries Downtown Gallery Archive. Whitney Archive indicates, "Exam. at Amer. Place, March, 1946. . . . No signature" On backing: In pencil by O'Keeffe "City Night – 26" . . . July 1949 [not verified]. Miss Bry (An Amer. Place) told me that this picture had been bought by the Miller Co, a lighting fixture firm in Conn. The Miller Co. used the color reproduction as their Christmas card in 1947." History of extensive conservation is recorded and available in museum files. Mentioned in New York Times (January 1932) as being at Reinhardt Galleries. (Source: Lynes, 1999)
