Whitney Archive indicates, "Exam. at Amer. Place, April 1946. . . [notes backing inscription but attributes it to O'Keeffe]. In pencil by O'Keeffe 'Fall Maple Leaves' [not verified]. Also initials [not verified]. Large pink and yellow maple leaves." (Source: Lynes, 1999)
