Two white-streaked pink tulips with green leaves occupy the center of the composition. Several yellow tulips stand behind these pink flowers. Light green stems support the blooms. The background of the work is painted solid white.

General Remarks

Whitney Archive, Abiquiú Notebooks indicate, "Infor. from Miss O'Keeffe, 1946: 'Pink and Yellow Tulips.' Ptd. 1923, In exh. at Anderson Gals, 1924 (not listed in catalogue), sold to Mrs. Herbert Fleischaker. . . . Letter from Mr. Herbert Fleischacker, Feb. 1946. . . . 'I am in receipt of yours of the 6th, addressed to Mrs. Fleischacker, wherein you ask for information regarding the work of Miss Georgia O'Keeffe. I am sorry to state that Mrs. Fleischacker gave these pictures away years ago and therefore cannot be of assistance to you.'" Backing inscriptions date 1925. Whitney Archive, Downtown Gallery Archive, Abiquiú Notebooks date 1923. Not included in 1924 exhibition. Dated 1925 and most probably exhibited in 1926. (Source: Lynes, 1999)
