Surface: The surface has an overall layer of grime throughout the sky section of the image. At the far left side edge near center in the dark mountains is a fine web like series of cracks in the surface. There are minor white accretions scattered throughout the mountain area of the image. At center left in the mountain area near the outer edge is a 2" vertical hairline crack. There is a section of fine slight alligator cracks at the center left in the mountains of the image. At upper center near the top edge of the dark mountains is a web like series of cracks with cleavage. There is a minor brown accretion at the upper right just above the thin cloud in the sky and a series of scattered white accretions at the upper right at the top edge of the cloud. There is a series of fine minor cracks at the upper right just below the dip in the mountains. There are minor white accretions scattered throughout the lower half of the image. The surface has a minor circular stain at the lower right just above the red bush closest to center.
Frame: The frame shows signs of wear with gouges, cracks, loss of gilding, chips and scratches throughout. There is also an overall discoloration of the gilding throughout the frame. At the upper left side is a significant gouge with loss. Along the bottom edge of the frame is a 3 1/2” vertical scratch with loss at the left and a 5 3/4" scratch with loss at the right. The right side of the frame at center has a 5" vertical scratch with loss and two significant gouges with loss along the upper half. At the upper right corner along the side is a section of surface grime. Along the top edge of the frame at the left is a horizontal strip of black surface grime and there is a 5 1/2" horizontal scratch at the right.
