Abiquiú Notebooks after 1977 dates 194.0. Dated 1940 on basis of backing inscription 1, 1941 purchase date, inclusion in 1941 New York (An American Place) exhibition, and Stieglitz—O'Keeffe correspondence. Whitney Archive, Abiquiú Notebooks associate work with no. Sin 1943 New York (An American Place) exhibition, but work was purchased in 1941, and included in 1941 exhibition as no. 8.
